PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: JAM Best-One Fleet Services

Created in 2003, JAM Best-One Fleet Services provides commercial trucking services, including commercial tire repair, roadside truck repair, electrical and diagnosis repair, and more. The company recently acquired a new building, located at 4934 Lewis Avenue in Toledo, OH, where it relocated its headquarters to accommodate the growing business. JAM Best-One Fleet Services utilized the Port Authority’s BBNWO program to finance energy-efficient upgrades to the facility, including roofing upgrades, LED lighting, and a natural gas and electricity supplier switch. It is anticipated these upgrades
will result in annual energy savings of $149,093!

"Our business has been a win-win-win situation for everyone involved. We have cleaned Erie County's environment, helped Erie County create a new source of income from their methane gas, and provided renewable energy to the cities of Painesville, Milan and Oberlin at a competitive price. We want to thank the Port Authority for helping us produce something useful from something that was polluting. Because of their help, we were able to turn a liability into an asset for Erie County."

"With the support of the Port's BetterBuildings Northwest Ohio energy program, we were able to upgrade our HVAC which significantly reduced our energy consumption and operating expenses and improved the overall comfort of our buildings."

"The BetterBuildings Northwest Ohio program has enabled us to implement mechanical and lighting upgrade, as well as the installation of building automation systems to our buildings. The improvements not only reduced our energy bills and demand but improved the overall comfort and aesthetics of our buildings."

"With the help of the BBNWO energy program, I was able to finance significant upgrades that will result in energy cost savings for my business and tenants, and make the building more efficient, comfortable and more aesthetically pleasing."

"The Port's BetterBuilding's Northwest Ohio energy efficiency financing program allowed us to invest in significant upgrades to our building that will not only save us money and energy, but it will allow us to pay for the improvements over time at a fixed interest rate."
