TOLEDO, Ohio, August 25, 2022 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority recently engaged the Bowling Green State University’s (BGSU) Center for Regional Development (CRD) to conduct an economic impact analysis for the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport (TOL) and the Toledo Executive Airport (TDZ). The study highlights that in 2021 TOL supported over 2,900 jobs and over $581 million in economic output in the Toledo Region, while TDZ supported an additional 44 jobs and over $6.6 million in economic output.

Allegiant Begins New Service to Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona from Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport

TOLEDO, Ohio, March 9, 2022 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority today celebrated the new service between Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport (TOL) and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) on Allegiant. With the addition of the Phoenix-Mesa route, Allegiant now offers nonstop, low-cost flights to four cities out of TOL.

Port Authority Reports Highest Annual Tonnage at Port of Toledo Since 2011

TOLEDO, Ohio, January 13, 2022 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority is proud to announce a 22-percent increase in tonnage through the Port of Toledo in 2021, when compared to 2020. A total of 11,428,753 short tons traveled through the Port of Toledo last year – the highest tonnage the seaport has seen since 2011. The Port of Toledo also set a record for the most aluminum handled in a season totaling nearly 276,000 short tons. Additionally, iron ore tonnage at the Port of Toledo was the highest reported since 1979. The increase in iron ore is mainly attributed to the commencement in the operations of the new Cleveland-Cliffs Toledo Direct Reduction Plant at Ironville Terminal.
