TOLEDO, Ohio, August 22, 2017 – Today, Toledo Express Airport (TOL) celebrates American Airlines’ inaugural flight to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). American Airlines will offer two flights per day on 50-seat regional jets with departures from TOL at 7:00 a.m. and 1:26 p.m., and arrivals to TOL at 1:01 p.m. and 11:43 p.m. This new air service is anticipated to increase total passenger traffic at the airport by as much as 30 percent, and represents a 66 percent increase in American Airlines’ capacity in the Toledo market. The new air service will also provide an economic impact of $15.4 million annually on the local economy according to a recent study conducted by the Center for Regional Development at Bowling Green State University.

TOLEDO, Ohio, June 15, 2017 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority announced today that Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE: CLF) will locate its first hot briquetted iron (HBI) production plant at Ironville Terminal in East Toledo. This project has the potential to create up to 130 permanent jobs, more than 1,200 construction jobs and represents a $700 million investment in the Toledo Region. This project was made possible due to partnerships between the Port Authority, JobsOhio, Midwest Terminals of Toledo, City of Toledo, Lucas County, Regional Growth Partnership, and the Ohio Rail Development Commission.

TOLEDO, Ohio, April 17, 2017 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority announced today that American Airlines will begin new twice daily nonstop service between Toledo Express Airport (TOL) and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) beginning on August 22, 2017. This new route represents a 66 percent increase in American Airlines’ capacity in the Toledo market.

TOLEDO, Ohio, January 12, 2017 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority’s Diversified Contractors Accelerator Program (DCAP) has eclipsed the $4 million mark with $4,102,148 in total loans approved since the program’s inception in December 2010. The program, which provides financial support to encourage increased participation by northwest Ohio-based minority and women-owned contractors in publicly bid work and privately funded construction projects, currently has 51 participants who have received funding for 92 projects.
