(Washington, D.C. – January 14, 2015) The results of a year-long infrastructure investment survey were released today by the American Great Lakes Ports Association and the Canadian Chamber of Marine Commerce. The survey was commissioned by a coalition of U.S. and Canadian Great Lakes-Seaway maritime industry stakeholders, and was conducted by Martin Associates of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Total cargo volume is up 5 percent due predominantly to formidable tonnage of steel, salt, and grain shipments.

Washington, D.C. (November 6 , 2014) – The St. Lawrence Seaway reported that year-to-date cargo shipments of 29.5 million metric tons moved through the system for the period March 28 to October 31. Total cargo volume is up 4.5 percent compared to the same period last year, due mainly to the robust tonnage of grain and steel moving through the system. Year-to-date, 8.4 million metric tons of grain were handled – an increase of 49.9 percent compared to 2013. This increase has been more than offset by a 26.5 percent decrease in iron ore volume through the system, and an 11 percent decrease in coal tonnage.
Washington, D.C. (October 16, 2014) – Through September, seaport tonnage at the Port of Toledo is up over 16 percent, nearly one million tons ahead of where it stood over the same period in 2013. All cargo categories have increased over last year with the exception of petroleum and liquid bulk, making 2014 the best year since the 2011 season.

(October 1, 2014) – The St. Lawrence Seaway reported that year-to-date cargo shipments of more than 24 million metric tons moved through the system for the period March 28 to September 30 – an increase of nearly 5 percent over September 2013. U.S. grain continued its upward trend posting a 14.6 percent increase over the same time last year.
TOLEDO, Ohio, September 26, 2014 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has received its designations to operate an approved EB-5 Regional Center by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Regional Centers act as a vehicle in which foreign direct investment can be made into qualifying projects in the United States, and provide a permanent visa for the investor based upon achieving certain benchmarks for the investment, including job creation.

TOLEDO, Ohio, July 24, 2014 – Travel from Toledo Express Airport just became more rewarding. Travelers in northwest Ohio who fly nonstop to Chicago or connect internationally to worldwide destinations through American’s Chicago O’Hare hub can now take advantage of a new free parking initiative from the Toledo Express Airport. Now through the end of 2014, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority is offering free parking to all passengers who are traveling internationally out of Toledo Express Airport (TOL). In addition to free parking for international travel, Port officials will also honor free parking for those who are traveling out of TOL nonstop to the final destination of Chicago (ORD).

Standard & Poor's Upgrades Port Authority Rating to "A-" for Northwest Ohio Bond Fund

TOLEDO, Ohio, June 3, 2014 – Standard & Poor’s (S&P) recently announced an upgrade to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority’s Northwest Ohio Bond Fund rating from a “BBB+” to an “A-” investment-grade rating with a stable outlook.
TOLEDO, Ohio, April 17, 2014 – Passenger traffic at Toledo Express Airport (TOL) continued to climb during the first quarter of 2014 with a 14.44 percent increase as compared to the same period during the previous year. A total of 47,164 passengers made the choice to fly through TOL during the months of January, February and March. American Airlines showed an 8.19 percent increase for the quarter, with a total of 18,618 passengers. This upward trend indicates that more northwest Ohio travelers are booking flights from TOL when purchasing airfare.
