TOLEDO, Ohio, February 19, 2021 – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced yesterday the award of a $2.4 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance Grant to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority to create a Revolving Loan Fund for businesses in Northwest Ohio. The EDA grant will be matched with $600,000 in local investment in establishing a $3 million loan fund.

Port Authority has Record Year for Loan and Bond Financing in 2020

TOLEDO, Ohio, January 28, 2021 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has provided $44.46 million in financing in 2020 to various organizations across the region through its multiple financing programs. A total of 11 Small Business Administration and Ohio Regional 166 Loans were closed totaling $7.46 million, setting a record for the most loans closed in one year at the Port Authority. A total of 105 new jobs were created with these loans. The Port Authority also saw a record year with the issuance of $37 million for five separate projects, within its Northwest Ohio Bond Fund (rated A- by Standard & Poor’s).

TOLEDO, Ohio, October 1, 2020 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has been awarded $568,125 from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) through the Maritime Assistance Program (MAP) for two projects at the Port of Toledo. The grant funds provide 50 percent of the total project costs that will be matched by local funds. The first project is the acquisition of a Tier-4 heavy-lift forklift in the amount of $235,000, which will be utilized at the General Cargo Dock, operated by Midwest Terminals. The forklift will be used to handle steel coils and other heavy and oversized cargo regularly handled at the terminal. The remaining $333,125 will fund the construction of a retaining wall and other improvements around the dry docks at the Toledo Shipyard, operated by IRONHEAD Marine.

Toledo Express Airport Awarded $9.8 Million Grant from U.S. Department of Transportation

Port Authority Receives $16 Million Port Infrastructure Development Grant from MARAD

TOLEDO, Ohio, February 14, 2020 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority received today a $16 million grant awarded through the United States Maritime Administration (MARAD) Infrastructure Development Grant Program. These grant funds will allow the Port Authority to reconstruct and upgrade the dockwall at the Port of Toledo’s General Cargo Dock, operated by Midwest Terminals, and will also be used to construct a liquid transloading facility at the site.

Toledo Express Airport Reports 1.69 Percent Increase in Passenger Traffic for 2019

TOLEDO, Ohio, January 22, 2020 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority welcomed 2020 with another year of positive growth and momentum at Toledo Express Airport (TOL). The airport closed out 2019 with a 1.69 percent increase in overall passengers for the year. A total of 245,389 passengers flew through TOL in 2019, which helped drive the airport’s seventh consecutive year-over-year increase in passenger traffic and marks the highest passenger total at the airport since 2008.

Port Authority Board of Directors Select Thomas J. Winston as New President and CEO

TOLEDO, Ohio, May 23, 2019 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority Board of Directors approved today the appointment of Thomas J. Winston as the new President and CEO of the Port Authority effective September 1, 2019. Thomas is currently serving as the organization’s Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer.

TOLEDO, Ohio, April 18, 2019 – The Toledo Express Airport Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) Board of Directors last night awarded a $20,000 Job Creation Tax Credit Grant to Tronair in consideration of its job creation and growth within the JEDD. Additionally, the Board of Directors appropriated $71,800 of JEDD funding to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority to be used for capital improvement projects in and around Toledo Express Airport.

Port Authority Launches New ParkSmart Website

TOLEDO, Ohio, February 27, 2019 – The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has launched a new website for ParkSmart, its downtown Toledo parking provider. The site, www.parksmart.org, will improve the ability to find downtown Toledo parking information on its three parking garages and on-street parking meters, as well as information on how to pay parking citations.

Port Authority Continued to Improve and Develop Toledo Express and Toledo Executive Airports in 2018
